Description
One line
Battleship, reborn in a neon voxel ocean — every hit gives you another shot.
Short
BoomBoats keeps the board everyone knows — ten by ten, five ships — and changes the one thing that made the original slow: a hit means you fire again, and combos multiply the score. Sink a fleet in a single turn if your streak holds. Eleven power-ups (sonar, torpedo run, decoy hull, carpet bomb…) bend the rules, six voxel fleets are earned not bought, and a ranked ladder of thirteen ranks runs on Game Center. Free, no ads, no in-app purchases.
Long
The board is the classic one, drawn as a live 3D voxel arena you can pinch and watch from above. You place five ships, the enemy places theirs, and you trade shots — except that a hit keeps the initiative. Land one and you fire again; land five in a row and the combo multiplier turns a good guess into a rout. Miss and the turn passes, and the enemy plays by the same rule, so a streak can happen to you too.
Between the shots sit eleven power-ups with real trade-offs: Sonar Pulse counts hidden hull cells in a sector, Torpedo Run enters at an edge and runs the row, Decoy Hull hands the enemy a false hit, Last Stand holds a sinking ship together for one more turn. They unlock by level, recharge through play, and never cost money. Six fleets — from the grey Steel Tide to a pirate armada and an alien one — are earned the same way, each ship a hand-built voxel model.
Online, a friend challenge runs in real time over Game Center with no account, server or password: the defender judges every shot, so there is nothing to cheat. A thirteen-rank ladder, 37 achievements and daily and weekly missions give a reason to come back; a cloud save through Game Center keeps the captain safe.
BoomBoats was built in Godot 4 and shipped to 175 countries on 19 August 2026. It is free, it has no ads, and it sells nothing.
Features
- Fire again on a hit. The rule that gives Battleship momentum. Combos multiply the score; sinks pay by hull length.
- Eleven power-ups that change how you aim, not whether you can win: sonar, radar sweep, depth charge, double shot, spotter plane, torpedo run, decoy hull, carpet bomb, recon drone, repair kit, last stand.
- Six voxel fleets, each ship modelled from real silhouettes and earned in play.
- Real-time 1v1 over Game Center — invite a friend, play inside a FaceTime call with SharePlay on iOS 26, no account to create.
- Five arenas — Neon Command Deck, Frozen Fjord, Poseidon's Arena, Haunted Abyss, Alien Platform — with day, sunset and night.
- A ladder worth climbing: thirteen ranks, seasons, 37 achievements, daily and weekly missions, a battle history of every match.
- Free, and honest about it. No ads, no in-app purchases, no sign-up. Anonymous analytics only.

From the developer
“Battleship was never a bad game — it was a slow one. The moment a hit lets you fire again, it stops being about luck and starts being about nerve. I wanted the board to look like a toy you would actually pick up, and the game underneath it to be fair: no ads, nothing to buy, no account to make. Just sink their fleet before they sink yours.”THE LAST CLICK, developers of BoomBoats
